The Baptist church in nearby Wolfville. Next to it on one side is Acadia University and on the other side is the main shopping area with many interesting stores, cafés, restaurants and galleries.

Kingsport is situated on the Minas Basin, which captures the inner end of the Bay of Fundy. It is protected from the Bay by Cape Blomidon, legendary home of the Native god-hero "Glooscap".

Some things to do in the immediate area:

  • Hike the fabulous trails at Blomidon Provincial Park and Cape Split, 15 minutes away.
  • Visit Wolfville with its theatres, restaurants, galleries, and shops.
  • Visit Acadia University, including the Harriet Irving Botanical Garden featuring native species.
  • Grand Pre National Historic Site (15 minutes away) commemorates lives and losses of the Acadians, the original French settlers who came here 400 years ago.
  • Dine on lobster at the wharf and visit artists' studios in Halls Harbour.
  • Golf at one of several 18-hole golf courses within a 15-30 minute drive.
  • Rent a bike. Great cycling!
  • Go trail riding on horseback on the nearby North Mountain.
  • Nature walks are held regularly by the Blomidon Naturalists Society.
  • The Annapolis Valley is famous for its apples and fragrant spring orchards. The Apple Blossom Festival is held at the end of May each year, with a parade and music events.
  • In the winter, the area is famous for eagle watching and cross-country skiing.
  • Sleigh rides are available locally.
  • Downhill skiing at Martock, 40 minutes drive away.

An Organic Farmers Market takes place in Wolfville on Saturdays throughout the year.

There are excellent massage therapists in the area.

There are modern hospital facilities and shopping centres 15 minutes away.
