In the fall, hundreds of bald eagles return to the area to spend
the winter. Special events are held during the winter by local communities.
The Blomidon Naturalists Society in conjunction with the Biology
Department at Acadia University conducts an eagle count each year.

In winter, the receding tide leaves dramatic sculptures in ice and
sand on the beach.
