The backyard and garden

The garden gate leading from the driveway holds a robust 'silver lace vine' summer bloom.

The garden is mostly comprised of herbs. Guests may use the fresh chives, oregano, sage, and parsley in cooking, and hyssop, mint and lemon balm for tea.

Many of the plants have been chosen to attract butterflies, hummingbirds and songbirds.

The small woodland garden has spring bulbs and ferns.

It's lovely to eat breakfast out on the flagstone patio in the early morning sun, or to catch the late afternoon glow in the garden.
